Guiding and molding the budding and blossomed ideas of women business owners is the touchstone of wegg®’s philosophy and practices. Connecting and fostering a network of women entrepreneurs through our Cohorts, virtual cafe, and wegginars® has led to a nonpareil community that spans the globe. Over the weekend, Maui News shared a press release regarding a collective fostering these very same principles in Hawaii. The article, Four Maui female entrepreneurs join Kukolu’s Indigenous Women’s Incubator Program, describes the initiative as thus:
“The Maui Cohort and Cohort 4 IWI programs are part of Kūkolu’s commitment to uplifting Indigenous wāhine and creating waiwai, abundance, and prosperity, for their families and communities. Both cohorts represent diverse industries and reflect the strength, creativity, and leadership of Native Hawaiian women entrepreneurs.”
Cultivating entrepreneurial and financial confidence within the Native Hawaiian circle is invigorating and moving to see. The IWI program’s structure is “a six-month accelerator program that provides Indigenous women entrepreneurs with the resources, mentorship, and support they need to grow sustainable businesses, fostering economic empowerment and community resilience.”
“The Maui-based participants, Halli Marie Ancheta, Pomaika’i Marmolejos, and Miki’ala Pua’a-Freitas,” are especially due for a well-deserved opportunity after all of the tragedy and tribulations that their island has faced in recent years. Here’s to good fortune and success for them all.
