Sometimes leadership, ministry, and life in general are hard. Just because we are Christians who are faithfully following Jesus does not mean we are exempt from the challenges that life can bring our way. Struggles, pain, and suffering are simply the reality of living in a broken world with broken people in need of a Savior. However, amid the heartache and ups and downs of leadership and ministry, there is a safe place where women can come to join other women who know what they are going through—Lifeway Women’s Leadership Forum.
The theme for Forum 2022 was “Forgetting What is Behind and Reaching Forward to What is Ahead” based on Philippians 3:13. Through the teaching of the general session speakers—Courtney Doctor, Jennifer Rothschild, Derwin L. Gray, Jen Wilkin, and Rebecca McLaughlin—we studied the book of Philippians. Whitney Capps and Georgia Brown emceed and guided the attendees from session to session along with the worship band from Long Hollow Church. We were able to dive deeper into what it means to move forward in joy, hope, prayer, unity, humility, thanksgiving, and contentment.
One of the highlights of the conference was a special session focused on reaching Gen Z. Kelly King, manager of Lifeway Women’s Ministry Training, interviewed Shane Pruitt, National Next Gen Director for the North American Mission Board, giving insight into the church and cultural changes of Gen Z. Georgia Brown led a panel discussion with young leaders Gabrielle Odom, Alexus Lee, and Amanda Mejias.
There is no better summary of Women’s Leadership Forum than to hear about the experience from those who were there. Here are a few testimonies:
“One of the things I love about Forum is that it is a time for leaders to be poured into by seasoned ministry leaders. Forum creates an intentional space and atmosphere for refreshment, training, and equipping so that leaders can go back to their churches and communities and move forward in ministry.” — Anne
“It is a safe space for leaders to connect and encourage one another with challenges and hardships they are having whether in ministry or personally. You realize you are not alone in your struggles.” — Peg
“The great thing about Forum is that you hear from the authors, speakers, and leaders who you know, who you are familiar with, and who you follow, and then they are mixed with the breakout sessions of newer faces or others you may not know but who understand where you are coming from as a leader.” — Ellie
“Forum is a combination of great teaching, interactive opportunities, good food, door prizes, giveaways, amazing sponsors, and exhibits that affirm you as a leader. It is the whole package and setting of a great conference.” — Morgan
“Forum is simply something that you must be present for and attend in order to see and experience the power and movement of the Holy Spirit in a setting like this! You will walk away changed and transformed to become more of the leader and minister God intends for you to be.” — Mia
And if you are thinking about coming to Forum in the future, you will have two opportunities to join us in 2023. We will have a Lifeway Women’s Leadership Forum on the West Coast in San Bernardino (Highland), California, on July 13–14, 2023, and in Nashville (Hendersonville), Tennessee, on November 9–10, 2023. Whether you’re leading in the church or the workplace, as a volunteer or as a staff member, at Lifeway Women’s Leadership Forum you’ll gain skills and strategies to grow as a leader wherever God has planted you.
