Tom Brady Hints at Upcoming Fashion Career

What has six rings, two guns, and an arm which has amassed more records than the local hipster hangout? Football legend Tom Brady, of course. But it looks like he might have his eyes on a new career – fashion.

And why not? The iconic Patriots QB is already known around the world not only for his skills on the field, but also for his incredibly fit body and classically handsome face. He's also married to supermodel Gisele Bundchen and is father to three children.

This American hero may have seen the end of his glory days on the gridiron, but he's certainly not done for in terms of the celebrity realm, having recently inked a promotional deal with luxury Swiss watchmakers IWC Schaffhausen. This isn't exactly Brady's first fashion rodeo, either; he'd previously been the brand ambassador for competing Swiss label Tag Heuer.

Detailing his latest partnership in a new interview with WWD, the man with No. 12 on his back spoke to his long love of watches and those who craft the finest.

“I’ve been collecting watches for 22 years,” Brady said in the interview. “And yes, it could be a very expensive habit... But it’s very fun and I have an appreciation of the beauty of it. I’m just learning more all the time.”

In fact, the quarterback's love of timepieces is so near and dear to his heart that his doting wife gifted him a Portugieser – perhaps, ironically, an IWC Shaffhausen offering – for his 30th birthday a little over a decade ago.

The big news, though, is that Brady doesn't seem to be limiting himself to timepieces when it comes to expanding his horizons. In the very same interview, he made it clear that he has an ambitious mind, while evading questions about launching his own fashion career.

“I don’t know what the future holds,” Brady said. “I have several things in the works that I can’t talk about now, and I don’t know if they’ll come to fruition, but I’m excited to find something to challenge me in my second career. I’m just not sure when that’ll happen.”

If Brady and Bundchen team up to deliver a new label based on their very high-profile public personas, it won't be for lack of funding. It is estimated that the power couple are worth about $580 million combined, and both the football superstar and supermodel boast immense social media followings – where Tom Brady lays claim to 6.3 million Instagram followers, Gisele reports an epic total of 15.4 million.

Tom Brady isn't fully finished with football, either. Despite all of the attention that his recent style choices and endorsements have been garnering, he's ready to return to the game he loves so much – at least for a little while.

“Training camp started a couple of days ago,” he said. “So it’s the end of the summer for me. I’ve been at fall camp for 29 years now so I’m used to it, my body clock kicks in and I don’t know my life without it.”

Fans looking for a full-blown Zoolander moment from Brady might be waiting for the next offseason, it appears.
