1 in 4 People Use Dating Apps to Cheat, Says Study
The future is here. Forget about Marty McFly's hoverboard and totally sweet flying Delorean, dating apps are what the public really demands. At least, that's what the data is saying.

Tinder, PlentyOfFish, and a host of other hookup apps have become a cultural phenomenon in the singles market. Boasting millions upon millions of users worldwide, and an equal amount of cash in the bank, these titans playing Cupid hold peoples' hearts in their figurative hands. However, it's not just singles who are looking to mingle, new data suggests.
If you're in a so-called “committed relationship,” you'd best watch your back. According to data provided by HighSpeedInternet, more than a quarter of people surveyed admitted to using Tinder despite being embroiled in a romantic relationship at the time. Bad boys seem to outnumber mean girls, as the survey of 400 different individuals suggested that guys were nearly twice as likely to have a few options on the side while getting cozy with their main squeeze.
However, a lot of people don’t even count it as cheating. One-third of people polled said that it didn't constitute cheating to use a dating app while in a presumably monogamous relationship, and about 10 percent of those surveyed said that it wasn't necessary to disclose your LTR to potential Tinder or PoF dates.
Plus, according to the survey results, your date might be not-cheating while on a date with you. Thirteen percent of those surveyed admitted to using a dating app while on a date.
Of course, there's always ghosting — another new era behavior that is often considered crude and uncivilized. Almost half of the respondents confessed to having ghosted someone in the past (47 percent to be precise) and 45 percent said that they had, themselves, been ghosted.
All this to say that while dating has become easier due to technology, that same tech has its drawbacks. While you might meet the soulmate you might not have met under less technological circumstances, you might also have an increased chance of getting cheated on or ghosted. For some, it might be worth it.
