Nike Has Released Some Very Rare Stranger Things Sneakers
Nike has already blown the doors off the summer with its recent “Stranger Things” collection, which unleashed classic Cortez, Blazer and Tailwind style shoes in two different major colorways.

Now the athletic apparel company has gone one step further, following the Season 3 “Stranger Things” release on Netflix with a third pair of Tailwinds — only this time, the shoes come with a rough gray fabric that can be burned away to reveal new design elements underneath.
Burning the Monster
If taking a flame to your own shoes is the kind of thing you haven’t done since sixth grade, bear with us. It looks like these kicks have been released post-Season 3 for a reason, with neat details from the new episodes revealed by your rabid pyromania.
The insoles, for example, are decorated with a sketch of the machine the Russians are using to reopen the gate to the Upside Down. Pull these out and you find the secret code Robin cracks written in both Russian (in the left shoe) and English (in the right).
Elsewhere, you can take a flame to Nike logos at the back of the shoes, burning them away to reveal the “Stranger Things” titles instead.
Want to Get Your Hands on Them? Good Luck With That
So now the bad news. If you’re looking to get your hands on these shoes it will most likely have to be on the secondary market, and we’re thinking it will be for a very pretty penny. In fact, a few listings are already popping up on eBay. The shoes were available exclusively through last weekend’s BAIT San Diego’s scavenger hunt.
Not to worry, though: there are plenty of other ‘Stranger Things’ collaborations to get your hands on in 2019.
